Graduado en la carrera de Medicina Veterinaria. Defendió su doctorado en Leipzig, Alemania. 1988. Tiene publicado 184 trabajos en revistas Nacionales e Internacionales. Miembro titular de la Sociedad de Epizootiologia. Profesor Titular del Departamento de Medicina Veterinaria. Desde el año 1992 dirige el tema de Investigación: "Impacto de los desastres en la salud y producción animal y vegetal en la Facultad de Ciencias Agropecuarias de la Universidad Central de las Villas. Autor de catorce libros. Ha participado en más de 100 eventos Nacionales, Internacionales y Provinciales.
